BIKES OUT!

We love to be BIG BOLD MOVERS! And some of the older children have been having adventures on the bikes to explore push and pull, balance and coordination.

The children have been creating relationships with each other by supporting one another, modelling how to sit on and ride the bikes to the younger children.

They have really been noticing the different surfaces as they ride on them inside and outside – smooth and shiny, rough, and bumpy!

We have also been using our ‘stop’ and ‘go’ signs to create our own games that involve lots of new and exciting language such as ‘fast’ and ‘slow’.

And we have been modelling the language of Building Learning Power and talking about ‘tricky’ learning and how to persevere, ask for help and imitate others learning if we get stuck.

CONNECTING WITH OUR WIDER WORLD

We have been getting out and about in our local community, come rain or come shine!

Getting out in all weathers creates different sensory experiences, supporting attention to light, smells, sounds, wind, and weather!

We talked lots about being wet and feeling the raindrops on our heads.

Walking back, we found lots of puddles too.

Children were really making links in their learning, remembering wet weekend visits to the park

USING ALL OUR SENSES – We are scientists and experimenters!

We’ve been wallowing!

We’ve been playful!

We’ve been scientific explorers!

Using all our senses to explore and experiment, cook, and colour and create!

Food colours of all descriptions, smelly herbs, great big explosions of flour!

How we love playdough making.

Come and ask for our recipe if you haven’t yet made this at home.
