Fingers Are Tools
Fingers are great to squash and to squeeze!
Fingers are great to poke and press, pat and push!
Fingers are great to grasp and twist, smooth and stretch!
Fingers are great tools!
We have been immersed in malleable materials – playdough and clay.
We have been paying attention to the sensation of Gloop as it runs over our fingers and hands.
We have been curious about the wet, squelchy, muddy feeling of clay as we squeeze and pinch it, hit bang and stamp it.
We have been absorbed in manipulating the materials and how we can change them with our fingers and hands.
Fingers are great tools!

O we do love clay!
Have you met Rhea – our resident artist?
She has inspired us with Clay Play!
Clay has a language of its own and we have been curious to how it will respond to our manipulations.
We have been touching and discovering the clay.
We have been experimenting with tools to make and shape the clay.
We have been wondering with the clay…. What will it do next?
O we do love clay!
