Boing, Whoosh, Push and Pull!
We have been so busy with our bodies!
In our Baby Shack we have been biking and brushing, driving and digging.
Zooming down the ramp and pushing the bike back up.
Sweeping up and taking care of our Baby Shack.
And having to coordinate ourselves and tools, negotiating space and negotiating with each other.
Being in our bodies is so important isn’t it?
“A moving child is a learning child” is one of the sayings we love.
Being in our bodies, out in the world helps us explore, interact, enquire – it helps our self-esteem, our well-being, our health – it makes us feel good about ourselves and secure in the world.
Our St. Paul’s Promise “I am a Big Bold Mover” means we have created movement-rich spaces for children to build and balance, lift and carry, push and pull, run and climb.
Our St. Paul’s Curriculum helps us think about how we help children develop agility, coordination, resilience, dexterity, stamina, suppleness and rise to physical challenges.

Light and Shadow
We have been exploring light and shadows, reflections and colour.
We have been Curious Explorers and Scientists with our Senses – carefully noticing what happens when we use torches to shine through colourful objects, to shine on our bodies, to shine in the dark.
In our dark dark sleep room the torch is so bright!
In our dark dark sleep room the torch makes shadows.
Have you made shadows with a torch?
Have you noticed your shadow on the floor?
Have you notice how it changes shape?
Our St. Paul’s Promise “I use all my senses to engage in scientific enquiry” means we use all our senses in first-hand, hands-on exploration of materials and objects.
It means that we help children be curious and question, observe and notice, explore and experiment, to play with ideas.

Dig Dig Digging
Have you got diggers at home?
Do you dig in the mud or the sand?
We have been digging in the Shack, filling and emptying, moving and transporting.
It makes links with one of our Core Books that Row has been reading.
Have you read our Core Book “Dig Dig Digging”?
Have you seen Row read it on our YouTube Channel? Click Here to view the video.
Our St. Paul’s Promise “I am Ready-to-Read, playing with words and sounds, songs and rhymes” means we enjoy stories and rhymes, songs and poems.
It means we read and re-read our favourite books again and again so children can anticipate and join in with the words and actions, the sounds and songs of stories.
Sharing stories with warm adults in a relaxed, playful way instils a love of words and print which will provide the foundations for a child to want to be a reader themselves.
Our Literacy Curriculum supports children to have a love of books that ignite imagination, creativity and possibilities.

Eid Mubarak
Nadiya has been celebrating Eid.
And sharing her celebration with us.
Eid follows Ramadan and is full of prayer, feast, festival and family.
Eid Mubarak means “blessed feast” and Nadiya brought in delicious food to share with us and books for us to read together.
“Eid Mubarak” everyone!
Our St. Paul’s Promise “I know my own uniqueness and embrace diversity” means we explore different experiences, different communities, different cultures.
