O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!

We made our own Christmas Trees this year didn’t we – wow what beautiful, brilliant, collaborative creations!

But we also wanted the children to experience the magnitude of a REALLY REALLY BIG BIG TREE!

Our St. Paul’s Promise “I connect with the wider world” supports children to experience their city, their locality, the places around them that make up their many worlds.

You may have noticed how much the Baby Room practitioners support children to be “out-and-about”.

Not only here in our garden – under the sky and in the elements, with grass under their feet and mud in their toes!

But out in their city!

There are so many things to see and explore and talk and think about aren’t there!

After seeing the tree, it was off to the shops to buy cooking ingredients – yum!

It’s so important for the children to have these genuine, everyday experiences out in the world – to ignite their curiosity, spark their conversations and help make links between their many experiences, their many worlds!

Go Babies!

Out-and-About!

We are Scientists!

What strange, unusual, novel thing is this!

Nadiya and Beau have been wanting to provoke some curiosity.

Offering the children a novel experience to offer cognitive challenge – something unusual, something curious, something immediate!

They ask…

“What is this?”

“What will happen if…?”

“I wonder…?”

“Do you notice…?”

The children use all their senses to explore, connect, reflect.

Our St. Paul’s Promise “I use all my senses to engage in scientific enquiry” supports children to

Cooking up a Treat!

Cooking and confidence with food is part of our everyday experiences here.

We love to try things out.

We love our allotment and fire.

And we love our Children’s Kitchen.
