Peek-a-Boo and Bubble Dance

Being together and belonging together.

Peek-a-Boo I know you! (they seem to say)

Bubble-bubble POP! (they seem to say)

The children have been fascinated with each other, drawing each other into play and explorations.

Their play so invitational and delighted, so full of humour and surprise!

Our St. Paul’s Promise says “I can belong and contribute to a group”.

It’s so important for children those “Crucial Cs” isn’t it?

I can connect

I count

I am capable

I have courage

It’s so important isn’t it that children have their special adults who will greet them, claim them, play with them and support their emotional wellbeing, regulation and learning.

We have been having “islands of intimacy” with the children, fully focusing on their incredible unique selves, listening closely to their play, playfully exploring objects or treasure baskets together.

These ‘islands’ of small intimate groups (keyperson to key children) have helped children connect to their keyperson, connect to each other and develop that close intimate, attuned, secure relationship.

Egg-Cellent

Boiling eggs!

Rolling eggs!

Breaking eggs!

Eating eggs!

Eggs are egg-celent!

Fascination and curiosity, research and reasoning, questioning and trying out?

Such great learners!

The children have been playfully inquisitive with eggs…

“What is change… what is the same and similar or different?”

Our St. Paul’s Promise says “I use all my senses to engage in scientific enquiry” and supports children to notice novel and interesting things; find different ways to explore materials and objects; observe closely, testing and retesting their ideas.

Music Making!

Strumming, thrumming, picking, plunking!

Drumming, beating, hammer-banging!

Children’s musicality has its rhythms, tones, sounds, melodies.

We have been vocalising and singing.

We have been hearing and listening.

We have been exploring and playing.

The children have been exploring the instruments rhythmically and repetitively.

In our music room there are drums, guitars, ukuleles, piano and keyboard, chime bars and triangles, bells and shakers and rainmakers… so many different sounds to make.

The children have been listening attentively to each other, imitating sounds and actions, responding to the different dynamics of loud and quiet, the different tempos of fast and slow, the different pitch of up and down notes.

Joyful, playful, curious, creative!

Do you play and instrument or sing?

Do you want to come in and play alongside us?

We would love to wallow with you, be immersed in musicality with you.

Come along and be playful, relaxed, musical!
