We enjoyed our visit from Drew and Paco. The babies joined in dancing and clapping to the music, and they continued to explore making sounds with the stringed instruments to see what kind of noises they could make by pulling and strumming the different chords of the instruments Drew and Paco had bought in for them to see.
When we made smoothies, we really noticed how some of the children’s fine motor skills have become much more controlled as they peeled and chopped the bananas. The children helped to pour the milk and the practitioners talked about the changes from liquid to solid and showed them how the sharp blades turned to liquidize the fruit. The younger children participated by watching the other children and handling the tools and fruit. Some were keener on the process than trying the smoothie.
