We are Messy Scientists

We do love mess!

We are using our WHOLE bodies! We are so so curious and interested in how things feel, look, smell, taste and sound.

Shaving foam SQUISHES!

Shaving foam is SLIMEY!

Shaving foam goes SPLAT!

Fingers and toes are great tools for mixing aren’t they!

We have been scientists – observing, noticing, experimenting!

Have you ever mixed paint and colours with foam? Have you noticed what happens?

Can you predict how it might change?

O! We do love mess!

We are Ready-to-Read with Words and Sounds, Songs, and Rhymes

We love stories!

And we love going to our new Library.

Our Library is slowly changing and growing and renewing!

Have you seen the giant Gruffalo in our new library?

Have you the seen the wolf in a tie?

Have you seen the cuddly dinosaurs?

We have been cuddling up together – experiencing the intimacy of sharing stories….

The physical closeness of a trusted adult, the rhythmic turning of pages… a place to be connected, a place to be purposeful, a place to be a storyteller!

We have loved our basket of Julia Donaldson books – so so many aren’t there?

We’ve found our favourite books, turned pages and imitated the rhymes, used Stick Man to help us bring the story to life!

We do love stories!

( Don’t forget to look at our Youtube channel to find us reading Core Books )

Food! Food! Glorious Food!

We do love food!

Cutting and chopping, mixing and making!

We have been in the kitchen lots and lots, trying out all sorts of tastes and textures.

We like to be confident with food – to taste and try new things!

Apple Crumble has been one of our favourite things to cook lately.

Do you eat apple crumble at home?

Or perhaps a different kind of crumble? Plum or Rhubarb perhaps?

Or maybe you have a different favourite dish or recipe?

We’ve been talking about the different ingredients that go into dishes.

And we’ve been keen to make sure we have a “can do” attitude – to cut and prepare, to mix and bake, to wash up and tidy away!

Don’t forget the washing up!
