Do you want to work in a supportive, inclusive and inspiring setting? We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed support worker with a passion for inclusion to join our team.
This is a unique opportunity to join a dedicated SEND team led by our Lead SEND practitioner in a beautiful and inviting environment. Our team enables our children to thrive, celebrate their passions and fascinations, and grow their communication and interaction skills. Our team works with very small groups of children and with high adult-to-child ratios.
The role is to assist children with additional needs and disabilities to access a broad range of learning opportunities within our nursery, to find out about and encourage their fascinations and interests, and to stay safe in our busy free-flow environment.
We are looking for practitioners who:
• Have real warmth and can build loving and trusting relationships with our children, families, team and community.
• Can positively support children to actively explore the learning environment inside and outside.
• Who have experience or interest in working with children with social communication needs and autism.
• Who are observant to children’s attempts to communicate and encourage the use of words, signs and symbols.
• Will work with the key person and other professionals to implement and monitor Individual Education Plans and small group sessions (Attention Autism and C&L)
• Can work with the team to ensure all children’s safety in our busy nursery environment.
• Will support children in all areas of their physical care including changing and specialist feeding.
• Enjoy responsibility and challenge.
• Are committed to providing an inclusive and creative environment.
In return we can offer:
• A committed and highly experienced team with pedagogical leadership at the heart
• Strong principles and values that underpin all we do
• Supportive and challenging CPD opportunities, supervision, mentoring and coaching
• Opportunities to ‘get stuck into’ things, take the lead, follow your interests
• A supportive and inclusive environment
