Isra has told us all about Sudafest:
“This celebration is very important to me because I believe we have a beautiful opportunity to show people the side of Sudan that is often unseen or overlooked.
Sudan is a country rich in history, culture, traditions, and beautiful values, yet there is so much about our country that people may not know.
For me, making and serving traditional Sudanese coffee is one of the ways I share my culture with love and pride. Sudanese coffee is more than just a drink; it represents our generosity, hospitality, and the warmth with which we welcome others into our homes. Every cup tells a story about who we are and the values we cherish.
Through Sudafest and other cultural celebrations, I hope we can bring people together, share our traditions, preserve our heritage, and help others discover the beauty of Sudan beyond what they may see in the news.
I am proud to be Sudanese, and it means a lot to me to be part of something that celebrates our culture, our identity, and the wonderful spirit of our people.”
If there is a celebration coming up for your family, your community, please come and tell us all about it.
