Do you want to work in a supportive, inclusive and inspiring setting? We are seeking a curious, enthusiastic, and committed early years practitioner with a passion for inclusion to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated SEND team, led by our Lead SEND practitioner, in a beautiful and inviting environment. Our SEND team works across our setting to enable all our children to thrive, celebrate their passions and fascinations, and develop their communication and interaction skills. Our SEND team has a dedicated classroom with enhanced ratios and lower numbers of children, as well as supporting children in the busier areas of our setting.
Your role will be to support the lead SEND practitioner in advocating for all our learners, enabling all children to access the curriculum, and helping to lead the SEND team. This will involve supporting practitioners across the setting to assess, plan for, and respond to any emerging needs or learning barriers.
We are looking for practitioners who:
- Have real warmth and can build loving and trusting relationships with our children, families, team and community.
- Can positively support children to actively explore the learning environment inside and outside.
- Who have experience or interest in working with children with social communication differences and autism.
- Who are observant to children’s attempts to communicate and encourage the use of words, signs and symbols.
- Will work with the key person and other professionals to implement and monitor Individual Provision Plans and small group sessions (talking tunes, Attention Autism etc)
- Can work with the team to ensure all children’s safety in our busy nursery environment.
- Will support children in all areas of their physical care including changing and specialist feeding.
- Enjoy responsibility and challenge.
- Are committed to providing an inclusive and creative environment.
In return we can offer:
- A committed and highly experienced team with pedagogical leadership at the heart
- Strong principles and values that underpin all we do
- Supportive and challenging CPD opportunities, supervision, mentoring and coaching
- Opportunities to ‘get stuck into’ things, take the lead, follow your interests
- A supportive and inclusive environment
