UPDATE (5th January, 12:00pm) – Despite the government announcement last night that Early Years settings can remain open, the leadership team and governors at St. Pauls have now made the regretful decision to close our nursery in response to the national lockdown. Please click here to learn more.

Dear Parents/Carers,

Thankyou for respecting our new policy and for wearing masks at drop off/collection times.

And thankyou for considering keeping your child home during this next difficult phase of the Coronaviris infection rates.

Despite other schools around us being closed or partially closed, we are OPEN.

We are continuing to follow our comprehensive Covid Risk Assessment,  stringent handwashing/cleaning procedures, and are waiting to hear from the Government if there will be any changes to this state of play.

Our team are fully committed to offering our service, we do not want to close as we believe to close again will have a detrimental effect on our children, families and sustainability. However, everyone’s health and safety must come first.

Having met with Nursery Governors at an emergency meeting today, we do all believe however that it would be prudent to prepare for another lockdown, should it come, so that we can respond as quickly and efficiently as possible as a setting.

Should another national lockdown be imposed, St Pauls will still offer a Skelton Service to:

  • Vulnerable Children
  • Children of Critical Key Workers

To help us with this preparation we ask you to please ensure that your key person knows your personal and working circumstances.

We need to know how many children will need to access our skeleton service, so as to plan the size of the staffing team required.

Can we also ask you please to ensure you keep up to date with our communication….things can change very quickly in this climate, and the government are doing many sudden uturns!

There are 3 ways which would help with this:

  • Checking the website for regular updates
  • Downloading the Parent Hub App (for Nursery School families) – see invite poster below
  • Downloading the FAMLY App (links below)

Parent Hub App

FAMLY App

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.famly.famly&hl=en_GB&gl=US

https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/famly-app/id807454588

Both Apps will ensure that you receive notifications of any updates and are available for download on Android and Apple Store.

Please can I also remind you to wrap your children up is some very warm clothes! It is very cold outside, but despite this we are trying to be outside as much as possible to minimise the transmission of the virus. When we are inside – the windows are wide open too!

Thankyou for your support during this difficult time.

Please be assured that we do all we can to ensure a safe learning environment for all.

Kind Regards

Ms Lucy Driver
Headteacher and National Leader of Education
