Lucy has recorded a Session for you all about EMOTION COACHING
This is a strategy we use at nursery to help young children learn to self-regulate, feel safe, and be confident.
It’s a way of responding to children’s outbursts of strong emotions, which sometimes present as challenging behaviour,
whilst recognising that all behaviour is communication.
Using an Emotion Coaching response, we empathise and acknowledge feelings but also support children with high guidance to develop the skills they need to regulate themselves and navigate life.
