We have a position, Clerk to Governors, which we are looking to fill.
St Pauls Nursery School and Children’s Centre is a dynamic, fully integrated service for young children and their families. We offer outstanding Early Education, Daycare and Family support services to up to 2345 families stretching from St Pauls to the Clifton Suspension Bridge. We are also a designated National Teaching School, with responsibilities for Initial Teacher Training, Professional Learning & Development, School to School Support, School Improvement and developing capacity and leadership. We work with many partners to develop and constantly improve this complex provision.
Our Governing Body has the challenge of keeping on top of all these many roles!
We are made up from long standing Governors and new Governors, all of whom have a passion for making a difference to the quality of EYs provision in our local community and Bristol city.
Our focus over the next year is to tighten the strategic role of the Governors across our Centre, and to do this we need to recruit a well organised, efficient and ambitious Clerk to the Governors.
Responsibilities include preparing agendas and collating the associated papers for Governing Body and committee meetings, taking and distributing minutes, offering procedural guidance and following up actions. The clerk to the Governing Body holds a key role in the governance of the school and is accountable to the Governing Body, working effectively with the Chair of Governors, the Headteacher, governors and school staff. The workload is variable and you will need to be flexible regarding the hours worked.
Candidates should be competent in the use of IT, email and internet. They should have an interest in education and be able to deal with matters confidentially. Specific clerk training will be offered.
