St Pauls has been served by an outstanding Nursery School for 40 years and one of the “jewels” of Bristol is the 12 exceptional maintained Nursery Schools that serve some of our most vulnerable communities.
Bristol leads the way nationally with our Nursery School Integrated Model, which includes working with families, supporting other settings in our areas and offering exceptional provision for children with additional needs.
We are a city that is proud to still invest in Nursery Schools and have a vision for how they can continue to play a significant role in the future to improve outcomes for all our young children and families.
Despite our evidence in outcomes, the future of our NURSERY SCHOOLS are again threatened.
The government’s consultation paper (Early Years Funding: changes to funding for 3 & 4 year olds 11/8/16) outlines proposals that will leave Nursery schools financially nonviable, potentially forcing them to close. This funding will not cover basic costs, let alone staffing with qualified teachers. The petition and further information can be found here.
These proposals will affect you and the quality of the nursery provision that you are able to access in your community.
Please sign the petition and join us in the fight to keep the future of Nursery Schools safe.
